How to Generate a GSLT Token for Garry's Mod
Setting up your GSLT token for your Garry's Mod server is important to have your server publicly listed on the server browser.
Obtaining Your GSLT Key
- Go to Valve's GSLT management page: https://steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers
- Log in with your Steam account
- Enter App ID 4000 for Garry's Mod
- Click on Create to generate your token
Important: You must generate a new key for each server you want to host.
Adding the GSLT Key to Your Server
- Go to your server in the control panel
- Navigate to Startup Parameters
- Find the field labeled Steam Account Token
- Enter your GSLT key in this field
- Save the changes
Finishing Up
Restart your server and it will be publicly listed on the Garry's Mod server browser.
Your server is now configured and will appear in the public server list!
Troubleshooting
If your server doesn't appear in the server list after adding the token:
- Verify that you entered the correct App ID (4000) when generating the token
- Make sure the token is correctly copied into the Steam Account Token field
- Check that your server has been restarted after adding the token
- Ensure your firewall allows incoming connections on the game port
